Mr. Brainwash: museum opening at the Paley Center in Los Angeles

"It's a dream come true; I still cannot believe it", said the street artist Mr. Brainwash (Thierry Guetta) confirming the opening of his new pop-up museum in Los Angeles.

Deodato Arte has been collaborating with the artist for years and owns exclusive distribution of the artist's artworks in Italy. Mr. Brainwash will exhibit his works in a museum space that will include a library, bookshop and rooms for talks and meetings.

This will be a unique project for Mr. Brainwash: a museum conceived as personal space, but also for other artists that will open in the former Paley Center for Media in Los Angeles in Beverly Hills. The opening will occur in the Spring; initially Mr.Brainwash will display his artworks only and will then invite other artists as well - as for instance Banksy -  either for solo or group exhibitions.Mr.Brainwash will thus exhibit works from other institutions or from his own collection.

Artist of Life is Beautiful and Love is the Answer, Mr. Brainwash is nowadays one of most renowned street artists. His art is characterized by an explosion of colours and citations from Pop culture and from the world of Pop and Street Art. His unique technique is a mix of different media, combining printing with the use of stencils, cans and paint.

Street Art and Inclusion at the Former Paley Center for Media in Los Angeles

The unique location adds interest to the news: the museum was initially dedicated to television and radio. The building of the former Paley Center was built by Richard Meier, one of the most interesting architects of recent times. Winner of the Pritzker Architecture Prize, the architect's most famous works include the Barcelona Museum of Contemporary Art, the Getty Center in Los Angeles and the San Jose City Hall.

Mr. Brainwash will thus have the honour to shape to his project in a unique space of great interest for media and institutions. The logic that will guide the museum will be that of inclusion: providing institutional space to Street Art and allow free admission to at least some of the projects and exhibitions that will be held.

We will keep you updated on any news about the opening date and the works that will be exhibited!
