Mr. Brainwash also known as Thierry Guetta, was born in France, in Garges-lès-Gonesse in 1966.

At the age of 15 he moved to Los Angeles where, improving his passion for the camera and he soon started filming all the most famous street-artists, getting more and more impressed by this art form that does not conform to any rules.

Thanks to his cousin, an already established street-artist under the name of Space Invader, he comes in touch with the controversial world of street-art.

Following the magnificent initiative launched in joint venture between Mr. Brainwash and Deodato Arte with the special limited edition of "I love Italy" that the artist specifically made for Italy currently facing the terrible health emergency COVID-2019, we're gonna reveal you 5 special things you cannot know about about the renowned artist:

1. He belongs to the royal circle of Street Artists

  • He is one of the best known street-artist in the world and one of the most valued with the highest growth of popularity in the last 10 years, together with Banksy and Kaws, according to ArtNet.  Mr. Brainwash took off in 2008 with the opening of his first exhibition-event "Life is Beautiful" in Los Angeles, which was a great success and launching the artist's rising career. Also noteworthy is the 2010 documentary film Mr.Brainwash made together with Banksy, entitled "Exit through the Gift Shop" in which Thierry Guetta accompanies and films the artist while making his works.

Moreover, the artist supports many humanitarian organizations around the world and recently met Pope Francis to raise funds for Scholas, the Pope's personal humanitarian organization for children.

  • Mr. Brainwash is in partnership with Galleria Deodato Arte that in 2009 hosted his first exhibition in Italy entitled "Milan Is Beautiful", exhibiting many works you can still find on our website www.deodato.com. The artist is therefore very attached to Italy and as mentioned above, for the COVID-19 emergency that afflicts the country he has made the artwork I love Italy, a silkscreen on paper in a limited edition of 350 pieces, deciding to donate 15% of the revenues from the sales to the Milan Fair Hospital, a new hospital  in building from zero to face the health pandemic.
