The work is part of the Flesh Garden series by Orticanoodles, a Milan-based artistic collective founded in the early 2000s and recognized as one of the protagonists of Italian Street Art.

Created as a collage on paper, the work features a vintage frame included, conceived as an integral part of the work, and develops a vertical composition in which a historicizing figure undergoes a process of fragmentation and recomposition. The face and bust are crossed by graphic inserts, chromatic bands and visual segments that interrupt the continuity of the original image. Neutral and brown tones confront accents of red, green, orange and black, introducing a tension between recognizability and transformation.

In line with Orticanoodles' research, the work brings into dialogue images from different contexts, overlapping classical references and urban languages. The figure is transformed into an open visual surface, on which typographic elements, contemporary details and pictorial traces modify the perception of the image. The golden frame, worn and irregular, strengthens the confrontation between the traditional dimension of the portrait and the contemporary intervention of the collage.

In Flesh Garden #11, the face is not simply represented, but reconstructed through a succession of fragments that alter its identity. The work reflects some of the most recognizable themes of Orticanoodles' poetics: the contamination between eras and languages, the fragmentation of the image and the possibility of transforming visual heritage through a contemporary gesture.

Orticanoodles

Orticanoodles is an art collective born in the early 2000s in Milan, created by Wally and Alita, and in a short time became a reference point for Italian street art. The collective has evolved from duo to factory, welcoming numerous collaborators and redefining the role of urban art through an open and constantly changing approach. Known for their pioneering skills in the use of stencil , the Orticanoodles have been able to combine innovative techniques and apop aesthetic to bring art to the streets, resulting in iconic murals that address relevant issues, such associal inclusion, the fragmentation of modern society and the enhancement of urban life.

The OrMe Project

One of the collective's most ambitious projects is OrMe - Ortica Memoria, an initiative that has seen the artistic redevelopment of Milan's Ortica neighborhood , transforming it into a veritable open-air museum. In this context, the Orticanoodles represented historical and symbolic figures of Italian culture, creating connections between the past and the present, and bringing attention back to the history andidentity of the place. The artwork is delicate and requires a custom-made wooden box to protect it during transportation. Delivery to EU countries takes 5-15 business days.

TAX

If you live in Europe (CEE) the price we show you already includes taxes. The works are taxed either with VAT exposed (5%) or VAT with the margin, if you are a private person you do not change anything, if you are a company: in In the first case, you will recover the VAT, in the second, no. When you put the works in the cart you will be separated from the vat exposed.

If you DON'T LIVE IN EU and you want an EXTRA EU shipping

Many works (not all) have an exposed VAT of 5% included in the price, this vat will be spun off! Obviously you will pay the VAT to your destination country, if due. For example if you live in Switzerland you save 5% but you will have to pay 8.1% to your customs, if you live in Hong Kong you will save 5% and you will not have to pay anything to your customs (lucky you).

PAYMENT

If you complete the purchase on the site you can use a credit card, or you can make a bank transfer. Payment in cash is accepted up to 5,000 euros physically in one of our stores. Payments in BitCoin or cryptocurrencies are NOT accepted.
