Flesh Garden

Orticanoodles – Flesh Garden

The work is part of the Flesh Garden series by Orticanoodles, a Milan-based artistic collective founded in the early 2000s and recognized among the protagonists of Italian Street Art. Created with mixed media technique on wood, it develops a fragmented and stratified composition, in which figurative elements, vibrant colors, graphic areas and painterly marks are arranged on an irregular and dynamic structure. The wooden surface becomes an integral part of the work: not merely a support, but a physical element that contributes to the decomposition of the image and its continuous visual reconstruction.

In line with Orticanoodles' research, the work combines a language rooted in urban culture with a strong attention to graphic composition. The sharp line, the use of color and the construction through fragments recall the collective's experience in stencil and muralism, while translating it here into a more intimate dimension.

Without offering immediate answers or a closed narrative, Flesh Garden invites the observer to confront an image in motion, constructed through tensions, contrasts and recompositions. The work thus reflects some distinctive features of Orticanoodles' poetics: the fragmentation of identity, the hybridization between visual languages, the dialogue between pop culture, urban art and painterly experimentation. It is not a matter of defining a single meaning, but of observing how forms, colors and surfaces transform in one's gaze.

Orticanoodles - Flesh Garden - Unique work - 2025

Orticanoodles

Orticanoodles is an art collective born in the early 2000s in Milan, created by Wally and Alita, and in a short time became a reference point for Italian street art. The collective has evolved from duo to factory, welcoming numerous collaborators and redefining the role of urban art through an open and constantly changing approach. Known for their pioneering skills in the use of stencil , the Orticanoodles have been able to combine innovative techniques and apop aesthetic to bring art to the streets, resulting in iconic murals that address relevant issues, such associal inclusion, the fragmentation of modern society and the enhancement of urban life.

The OrMe Project

One of the collective's most ambitious projects is OrMe - Ortica Memoria, an initiative that has seen the artistic redevelopment of Milan's Ortica neighborhood , transforming it into a veritable open-air museum. In this context, the Orticanoodles represented historical and symbolic figures of Italian culture, creating connections between the past and the present, and bringing attention back to the history andidentity of the place. This approach not only beautifies the urban environment, but also promotes the active participation of the local community, involving residents and raising their awareness of issues of social and cultural relevance.

The influences of the Orticanoodles in the art world.

Their influence extends far beyond the boundaries of street art through collaborations with foundations, schools, brands, and museums. Orticanoodles also brings their art to institutional and commercial settings, while maintaining a strong artistic and social identity. In fairs and galleries, the collective exhibits works that solidify their role in the contemporary scene and broaden access to their creative vision. Through social media, Orticanoodles reaches a large and diverse audience, continuing to inspire new generations and spread a message that combines artistic expression and social engagement.
