Marco Lodola - Prisoners of a Room

The work "Prisoners of a Room" by Marco Lodola, created in 2024 on paper in 21x29 cm format, depicts two hands typing on a laptop computer. The thin and precise lines, typical of Lodola's minimalist style, focus exclusively on the act of typing, omitting every other environmental or personal detail. This stylistic choice creates a strong sense of isolation, with attention focused on the relationship between the individual and the screen.

The title "Prisoners of a Room" suggests a sense of constraint and confinement, evoking how technology, while connecting the world, can often trap the individual in an experience of isolation. The hands, the only visible human element, appear almost mechanical, symbolizing an alienating and repetitive routine that annuls freedom. The room in which they are found, although not visible, becomes metaphorical, representing the mental and emotional space of those constantly bound to the digital world.

With this work, Lodola explores the theme of technological loneliness, offering a subtle yet incisive critique of the alienation that can derive from excessive use of technology. The essential drawing amplifies the sense of detachment and confinement, leaving the viewer the task of reflecting on the delicate balance between virtual connection and emotional imprisonment.

Marco Lodola and the Historic Calendar of the Carabinieri Corps

The Historic Calendar of the Carabinieri Corps, first published in 1928, is a true artistic icon that tells the pride and tradition of the Corps through unique illustrations. Conceived in Florence by General Gino Poggesi, then inspector of the III Zone, it became a permanent appointment over time, under the supervision of the Historical Museum of the Corps from 1934 to 1944.

Since 2016, the calendar has undertaken an innovative turn: its images are digitally created, with carabinieri immersed in masterpieces by great painting masters, blending tradition and modernity in an unparalleled artistic tribute.
