Marc Chagall - Sara and Abimelech

The work by Marc Chagall Sara and Abimelech is an original color lithograph with biblical subject matter made in 1960 and measuring 26x35,5 cm.

Chagall, painter born in Russia naturalized French, was a protagonist of the Paris of the first half of the twentieth century and close to what has been called the "School of Paris". His style reflects the poetic and dreamy world of childish fantasies, combined with a primitivist taste and the bright colors of Expressionism.

Sara and Abimelech is taken from the 1960 illustrated book “VERVE. VOL. X, Nos 37 ET 38” by Gaston Bachelard, published in 6.500 copies.
