Tvboy - The street art Meninas

Unique work by Tvboy, The street art Meninas is a street art reinterpretation of Diego Velázquez's iconic painting Las Meninas (1656). In Tvboy's work, next to the young daughter of the King of Spain, we find references to the world of street art and contemporary art. On the left, holding a spray can, appears the street artist Mr. Brainwash; on the right the hooded man reminds us of Banksy and his anonymity. But that's not all: we also find references to works by artists such as Takashi Murakami, Jeff Koons and Invader.

From urban interventions to studio works, irony is a typical trait of Tvboy. Art and provocation merge in works such as the faces inside the television screens of the first phase and the unmistakable "kisses", launching strong messages.

The street art Meninas is made with a mixed technique on canvas: for the edges Tvboy uses the stencil technique, while the inside is hand painted with oil paint. The work measures 150x120 cm and is signed in original by the artist.
