THE ARTWORK

-

The famous Campbell's can, which every American had in the kitchen, became a symbol of Pop Art and in the mass culture more in general thanks to Warhol's work. He extrapolated it from its everyday context and tuned it into an icon of the consumer society of that time. The Campbell's can image, declined in its different versions (Beef, Onion, Tomato, etc.), became famous thanks to the various screenprint portrayal Andy Warhol made.

In this case we have that same object that Warhol recreated: the Campbell's can, signed by the artist with a black marker.
