The portfolio "Mathematica" includes six color engravings of Mimmo Paladino, contained in a folder edited from Art OF THIS CENTURY and accompanied by a critical text of Enzo Di Martin. The "six mathematicians" of Mimmo Paladino, as Enzo Di Martin defines them, they are thinkers philosophers and perhaps shamans. Characterized by the presence of numbers and geometric forms, they stay immovable, setting to the observer continues questions. Paladino, through these works seems to want to show as worlds apparently distant, as the mathematics and the culture, the science and the art, are able in reality to meet themselves melting mind and heart. Of however looking at the history of the art, different artists have been to the search of the union between art and science, one of the most famous examples is the man Vitruvian Man of Leonardo da Vinci.
