Andy Warhol - Mick Jagger - FS II.142

Work by the king of Pop Art Andy Warhol, Mick Jagger - FS II.142 is a print made in 1975. It is signed in original by the artist and it measures 10x15 cm.

The work is an invitation card: these are the postcards that Warhol used to send to friends and acquaintances as invitations to his exhibitions, signing them in original.

The protagonist of the work is Mick Jagger, star of rock music and leader of the Rolling Stones. He is portrayed in black and white, with dark blue sections.

Warhol met the Jagger in 1964 in New York: a personal friendship was born and in 1971 the artist designed the cover of the iconic album Sticky Fingers, a masterpiece of rock music history. Attracted by Mick Jagger's celebrity, Warhol made the portfolio Mick Jagger in 1975 and this work is part of it. Learn more about the collaboration between Andy Warhol and Mick Jagger.

Mick Jagger - FS II.142, like other works by the artist (such as the renowned piece by Andy Warhol Marylin), convey the celebration of myths of Pop culture, reflecting the values of success and celebrity that are a typical trait of American society.
