Andy Warhol - Mick Jagger

Postcard by the King of Pop Art Andy WarholMick Jagger is a screenprin on paper made in 1975. It is hand-signed by the artist and measures 110,5x73,5 cm.

The protagonist of the screenprint is the rock star and frontman of the Rolling Stones Mick Jagger, frontally portrayed in black and white but with colored sections overlapping the image.

The meeting between Andy Warhol and Mick Jagger dates to 1964. They became friends and in 1971 the artist was chosen to design the cover of the album Sticky Fingers, masterpiece of rock music. Fascinated by Mick Jagger's celebrity, Warhol then created the Mick Jagger portfolio in 1975 to which this work belongs.

The celebration of myths and symbols of music and cinema is a typical trait of Pop Art and it features in and many other works by the artist, including the famous artwork by Andy Warhol Marylin.
